Our donor service is at your disposal to answer all your questions. Feel free to contact us by e-mail: support@samusocial.be
Thanks to your solidarity, you are allowing us to increase our capability to come to the aid of homeless people. Your support is essential to enable us to continue to help these women, men and families with children who must rely on services like ours to meet their basic needs.
By opting for monthly support, you help the Samusocial of Brussels to project its action into the future and thus develop projects, depending on the regularity of your contribution.
* For donations starting at €40 per year, you get a 45% tax reduction.
Samusocial could not carry out its missions without the support and collaboration of key public actors: the Common Community Commission, the City and the CPAS of Brussels, the Municipalities, the CPAS, the Police, the Hospitals, the SPF Santé… all of whom are directly concerned by the homeless problem.
Over time, the network of public partners has expanded considerably:
BIRB – Bravvo – Cap 48 (Viva for life) – COCOM – City of Brussels – Municipality of Woluwé-St-Lambert – Municipality of Ixelles – CPAS of the City of Brussels – CPAS Anderlecht – CPAS Auderghem – CPAS Evere – CPAS Schaerbeek – CPAS St-Gilles – CPAS St-Josse – CPAS Woluwé-Saint-Lambert – Red Cross – Fedasil – St-Pierre Hospital – Brugmann Hospital – Ixelles Hospital – INAMI – Délégué général aux droits de l’enfance – Secrétariat d’Etat à la Lutte contre la Pauvreté – Fire brigade – National Lottery – ONE – Brussels Police – Cellule Herscham – Cellule Hestia – Politique des Grandes Villes – Civil Protection – Régie des bâtiments – State Secretariat for Asylum and Migration – SPF Santé Publique – SPP Intégration Sociale – STIB – VisitBrussels
Collaborations with the CPAS are essential in helping us to care for homeless people.
Since the creation of the Samusocial, the CPAS of Brussels has been an essential partner in our work. Its contribution to the setting up of the various winter schemes is decisive.
Our teams work together on a daily basis with the social workers of the Brussels CPAS to ensure social support and monitoring. This collaboration is essential to enable reintegration through accessing rights: allocation of a reference address, allocation of the Social Integration Income (RIS), and emergency social aid.
Another form of collaboration is the provision of staff under “article 60” contracts by 8 Brussels CPASs: City of Brussels, Saint-Gilles, Saint-Josse, Evere, Ixelles, Molenbeek, Anderlecht and Uccle.
Our services collaborate with the hospitals of the Brussels Region on a daily basis.
-From the hospital to the Samusocial: referrals of people at the end of their hospitalization, referrals of people without accommodation who present themselves to the emergency service, women victims of domestic violence, assault victims, etc.
-From Samusocial to the hospital: referrals of people in need of emergency care, referrals of people with mental health problems, medical monitoring, hospitalisation, courses of treatment, etc.
Like the hospital, the Samu Social is the only night-time social operator which operates on a 24-hour basis and hosts all categories of public (families, women, men). The Samu Social is thus particularly solicited by the hospital emergency service.
The Samusocial of Brussels relies on a network of partners in the field and works closely with other organisations working in complementary fields.
Utilising such a network avoids unnecessary duplication of operations, provides effective referrals and ensures continuity of support.

Médecins du Monde has been supporting the Brussels Samusocial since the beginning of its activities. Consultations by volunteer doctors and nurses are offered in the evening in our shelters, in addition to the work of Samusocial doctors and nurses.
The association Solidarité Grands froids (SGF) has become a major partner of Samusocial. The permanent contribution of SGF’s many volunteers brings a clear added value to Samusocial’s service offer:
-The management of the “cloakrooms”, including the supply of clothes and the organisation of distribution points.
-Fitting out, decorating and supplying games and equipment for children’s spaces – Organising and running events for children (St Nicolas, Christmas, egg hunts)
– Helping people who have been referred to private housing by Samusocial to resettle by donating various items of furniture.
Samusocial seeks to develop partnerships with the private sector to strengthen our capacity to respond to the growing exclusion in our cities.
